    A few written previews…

    MD writes today;

No one was surprised when Eduardo Correa and Seth Feroce announced their move from the 202 Division to the Open, until the change to 212 was announced. Many expected to hear that both men were going to give the 212 a try, but that would not be the next move for either. Both tried their hand at the open, neither one earning the qualification they were after.

Both men had a stellar year in 2010. Feroce made his pro debut at the Europa SuperShow and nabbed his first pro win in the 202 division. Correa won the 202 division at the Europa Show of Champions and went on to place third at the Olympia 202 Showdown.

Segue to this weekend. Both men have moved to the 212 division, it’s the last show before the Olympia, and neither one is already qualified, and both won their last 202 show. Pride and a qualifying spot are on the line for both men.

But that won’t be the only battle in Sarasota. There’s also one brewing in the pro figure ranks. Its hard to imagine anyone will challenge 2010 Figure Olympia champion Erin Stern for the win, but the top spots will still be hotly contested. Points are on the line, and we won’t know until the weekend is over who gets the nod. Only one pro figure lady is secure, and that is Allison Frahn, the current leader in the points. She’ll compete in California, and more than likely add to her points. Tatiana Koshman will compete in Sarasota. She took third at her pro debut in Dallas just a few weeks ago; if she were to win or place second here, then someone will likely be knocked out of the top five.

The pro bikini line-up is also stacked, led by former FitnessRx cover girl Juliana Daniell, Olympia-qualified Tianna Ta, and rising star Yeshaira Robles. The show also boasts IFBB Pro Fitness, Men’s Physique, and Women’s Physique. In addition, NPC competitors will have the chance to compete in bodybuilding, physique, fitness, figure, and bikini! Stay tuned to MD all weekend long for updates, photos, and results!

Also Fit Camp got some attention on IFBB newsletter..

    IFBB ATHLETIC FITNESS IN PROGRESS

Athletic fitness was born in the Nordic countries many years ago but is a new official sport in the IFBB. Nordic countries have the most experienced competitors, trainers and judges in this sport, so it’s no surprise that they organize training camps to bring their skills to the higher level. The recent training camp was held in Estonia. Ott Kiivikas reported:

Already for the eight time, Estonian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation organized the international annual training camp called “Fit.Camp”. This year’s main emphasis was on Athletic Fitness: educating trainers, competitors and judges.

This year “Fit.Camp” was held on the naturally beautiful Baltic island of Saaremaa, in the borough of Orissaare. The seaside health resort offered a peaceful place with comfortable infrastructure for an international training camp.

“Fit.Camp 2012” was attended by five reigning European champions and 3 medal winners.

All of Estonia’s top athletes including Oleg Anissimov (men’s fitness European & world champion), Natalia Nazarenko-Kiivikas (women’s fitness European Championships overall winner & World Championships 2nd place winner), Mikk Raudsepp (men’ s classical bodybuilding European juniors champion), Kristina Koroljak (women’s fitness European juniors overall winner) took part in the event.

Sweden was represented by their Athletic Fitness team: European champion Helena Forsén and silver medal winner Kristian Sewén, with their trainer Fredrik Eriksson.

Finland’s best classic bodybuilders Utti Hietala and this year’s European championships bronze medal winner Peter Wilenius were also present like every year.

During the whole week all athletes and fitness enthusiasts could take part in educating lectures and collective training sessions. Campers could compete against each other in entertaining games and competitions, take part in a guided tour and even in a handicraft workshop.

The Camp ended with Saaremaa Open Cup in Athletic Fitness. A perfect little competition for beginners that helped to introduce the sport before the main contest season. Saaremaa Open Cup was made more engaging with the demo performances from European championships medalists.

Next year’s “Fit.Camp” will take place on July 15-21, 2013 in Orissaare, Estonia.

    You are all welcome.

    2012 KOREAN NATIONALS

    by Andrew Michalak

Korean bodybuilders had their National Championships on June 14th, 2012, in Busan Metropolitan City – the second largest city in South Korea, after Seoul. Hosted by the Busan City Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation under the leadership of Mr. Choi Sam-Seob, attracted over 180 male and female competitors, spread between juniors, seniors and maters categories. The Championships were officially opened by the Korean Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation President Kim Nam-Hak, who is also the IFBB Patron, and IFBB Judges Committee Chairman Pawel Filleborn, who represented IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja. The overall winners were: Kim Jong-Wong (men’s bodybuilding) and Park Bork-Im (women’s bodybuilding).

IFBB Judges Seminar was held in conjunction with these Championships, with over 50 Korean judges participated in. The next seminar, intended for judges from Asian countries, will be held in Seoul on September 12-14, 2012. South Korea is among five strongest IFBB national federations and won many continental and world championships medals. Few weeks ago was the second best team, after Iran, at the 2012 Asian Championships in Uzbekistan. Their top bodybuilders are preparing their bodies to the upcoming 2012 World Men’s Championships in Ecuador later this year.

    Hardbody.com previews women’s show – http://www.hardbody….o-show-preview/

Women’s Bodybuilding: We’ll see 18 women in the pro bodybuilding division and one will leave with an Olympia qualification. There are only 7 women in the 2012 Olympia to date. This certainly makes things more exciting for the competitors and fans knowing that more is on the line than at other shows. This show also has more prize money up for grabs than other shows. The top five women will leave with some coin and a total purse of $9,500 is on the line for these women. There is no clear favorite heading into this show so your guess is as good as ours when it comes to who will leave with the Olympia qualification. Wendy McCready and Monique Jones are both tied for 4th in the new Olympia Point Series with 3 points. If either of them finishes high at this show they could punch their ticket to Vegas via the new qualification system.
Women’s Physique: This women’s physique line up should provide a solid group for the judges to compare. Tamee Marie is coming off a win at the Greater Gulf States however this time around she’ll have some stiffer competition. Jennifer Robinson continues to make her presence known and if she can come in a bit sharper with better posing, she should be in the mix for the win. Trina Thompson and Nola Trimble will be making their IFBB Pro debuts. Trina achieve pro status at the Jr.USas and Nola went pro at the 2011 North American Championships. Both women could land in the top five their first time out. Kim Tilden is the one to beat in this lineup, at least based on the look the judges have favored and what she’s presented on stage. Paul Williams-Gulman will try her hand at the division after a debuting in Fitness. Paula finished at the bottom of the pack at the 2012 Flex Pro and will see if Women’s Physique is a better fit.
Pro Figure: This will be one of the biggest Figure competitions to date and only two of the 22 are qualified for the Olympia. Chelsey Morgenstern is one who quietly finds her way along each year and has been up and down in her placings. She was 16th at the 2011 Phoenix Pro, 12th at the Olympia and then finished in second at last year’s Kentucky Muscle Pro, qualifying her for the Olympia. This was one of the last shows where you didn’t have to win to qualify. On the flip side, Candice Lewis is coming off a win at the 2012 Omaha Pro. She show cased incredible structure and a nice balance in her upper and lower body. Her shape is one of the best in the pro ranks, if she comes in on point and maybe just a tad sharper than Omaha, she’s the one to beat. Cheryl Brown will look for the win but is she doesn’t she could still rack up points in the new Olympia Points system. She’s currently not qualified for the Olympia but sits in second, just one point behind Allison Frahn. Nipping at her heels in the point standings are Aleisha Hart, Kimberly Sheppard and Alea Suarez. Each of the ladies are tied for third an this show could put one of them ahead in the standings. If Alea Suarez brings the the look she presented at the Omaha Pro, night show she will be a contender for the win. Natalie Waples could be an X-factor as she’s either in the hunt or at the bottom of the pack. Chikondi Mseka has one of the better structures in this line up but has yet to get some love in the pro ranks.A little fun fact; Tiffany Archer, Candice Lewis, Vicki Counts and Gloria Tarpley all turned pro on the Chicago stage last year. The women faced off for the overall at the 2011 NPC Jr. Nationals and Candice prevailed as the overall winner..

….I mentioned Ahmad Ahmad in the post above, well Mr George Farah shared a recent shot of Ahmad about one week out. What do you think? Better, worse or the same?

    More information shared about the show in Madrid;

THE NEXT AMAZING WEEKEND IN MADRID

    by Andrew Michalak

    – MEN’S PRO BODYBUILDING SHOW

    – MEN’S ELITE AMATEUR BATTLE FOR TWO PRO CARDS

    – WOMEN’S ELITE BODYFITNESS BATTLE FOR A PRO CARD

SATURDAY, APRIL 28TH, PALACIO DE CONGRESSOS, MADRID, SPAIN

Spanish capital Madrid has become very active in the area of bodybuilding contests. Hosting the Arnold Classic Europe last autumn, now it will host the next pro and amateur contests this spring.

Palacio de Congressos (The Congress Palace) has been opened to beautiful and muscular bodies last October, when the first out-of America Arnold Classic was staged there. We all had a chance to see how marvelous place for body beauty presentation it was. The next event is coming closer now.

The first Mr. Europe Amateur Cup will include two bodyweight categories:

    – Lightweight, up to 85 kg

    – Heavyweight, over 85 kg.

The contest is intended for elite bodybuilders and bodyfitness champions from all over the world! Both men’s categories winners will be awarded the IFBB Professional League Pro Cards!” – IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja said.

Then they will run the battle for the overall title.

Similar, women’s bodyfitness open division winner will also be awarded with the IFBB Pro Card!

This is the only opportunity to win the Pro Card so early in the year and then battle with the pros in the upcoming events for Olympia ticket.

The final list of participants has not been closed yet, so National Federations can still nominate their top champions to participate in this extraordinary event and battle for the pro cards.

But there are only three pro cards for distribution and the event has specially been scheduled in this way that if you fail to win the Pro Card you may still participate in the European Men’s or Women’s Championships planned for the first half of May or in the Asian Championships planned for the beginning of June. So, the risk that you will be out of the schedule doesn’t exist. Why not to try?

After this elite amateur event, the pro show will be run in the evening. Over a dozen of top pro bodybuilders from Europe and America will battle for one ticket to 2012 Mr. Olympia and points in the Olympia Qualification Series. According to the new Pro League rules, only the winner of each contest qualifies to Mr. Olympia directly. But the next top four competitors win points, which will be added at the end of the Qualification Series and five bodybuilders with the highest totals will qualify to Mr. Olympia. So, the winner in Madrid will qualify directly and bodybuilders at places from 2nd to 5th will be awarded 4, 3, 2 and 1 point. Top exciting battle!

Organizers of the amazing weekend in Madrid also prepared special attractions for the viewers: one of them will be the guest appearance of the top pro fitness competitor who already qualified to 2012 Fitness Olympia, Regiane Da Silva!

More info about the stars coming to Madrid this April soon. Stay tuned!

    Olympia Qualification Series announced !

    http://npcnewsonline…announced/9768/

The IFBB Pro League, in conjunction with Joe Weider’s Olympia Weekend, announced the creation of the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series, a points-based system that will help determine qualifiers for all six IFBB Pro Olympia divisions.

The IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series will award points to competitors placing in the top 2 to 5 of all Pro League events. At the end of the Olympia qualifying season, the five (5) competitors with the highest points totals in the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series will qualify to compete at Olympia Weekend.

Since the winner of each competition automatically qualifies, no points will be awarded for first place. Additionally, competitors placing in the top 5 at the Olympia automatically qualify for the following year.

The IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series will be effective immediately, and point totals for all 2012 contests will be included.

“We think this is a great way to expand the number of Olympia qualifiers beyond those who win contests and to build excitement for all IFBB Pro League events throughout the course of the year,” IFBB Pro League Chairman Jim Manion said. “It ensures that the best of the best will be competing on the Olympia stage.”

Points and qualifications in the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series will be awarded as follows:

    TIER 1 – ARNOLD CLASSIC

    2nd – 8 Points

    3rd – 7 Points

    4th – 6 Points

    5th – 5 Points

TIER 2 – SHERU CLASSIC, ARNOLD CLASSIC EUROPE

    2nd – 6 Points

    3rd – 5 Points

    4th – 4 Points

    5th – 3 Points

    TIER 3NEW YORK PRO

    2nd – 5 Points

    3rd – 4 Points

    4th – 3 Points

    5th – 2 Points

TIER 4 – ALL OTHER IFBB PRO LEAGUE COMPETITIONS

    2nd – 4 Points

    3rd – 3 Points

    4th – 2 Points

    5th – 1 Point

Everything said above it’s because IFBBpro league made a rule last year, that only the winner of the show (open show, different rules in AC,Olympia etc.) will qualify to the Olympia Now, with this system, 5 competitors will qualify to the Olympia even if they would place out of straight qualification spots. In other words – compete active and get points!

Aerutajate vastu igasugustel korduste peale aladel on ikka väga raske saada.

Jah, tugev noor aerutaja.
