Nordic countries, which are Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Estonia started this federation activity in 2005 and it has been very active ever since. The co-operation between the Nordic countries has been very close for years before the federation were even started.
President’s visit in Lahti, Finland
President Santonja arrived on Friday so he had time to visit Lahti Exhibition Centre where Nordic Fitness Expo will be held again on August 31 and September 1. Nordic Fitness Expo is the leading bodybuilding and fitness show in Nordic countries and it will also have the IFBB Nordic Pro Championships included this year Men’s Pro Bodybuilding, Pro Figure and Pro Bikini competitions with of course Finnish Bodybuilding and Fitness National Championships with more than 200 competitors!
Since the Lahti Exhibition Centre is close by the famous ski-jumping stadium President Santonja was been able to see some ski jumps and he was in awe by that experience.
In the evening NBFF President KP Ourama and his wife Yasemin invited President Santonja and Iceland Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation President Einar Gudmann for a dinner with IFBB Finland officials in Mamma Maria Restaurant.
Early Saturday morning President Santonja had a workout at Lahti Body Club. While driving back to Cumulus Lahti Hotel from the gym President Santonja visited ice covered Lake Vesijärvi, where he saw men ice fishing.
President’s greetings
At the meeting President Santonja gave update for the NBFF board members about the IFBB and EBFF activities. There were also an interesting discussion about the future of Athletic Fitness as the Nordic countries has have that sport in their program for years. Good advises of developing Athletic Fitness were given by Norwegian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Vice-President Kim Torgensen and Danish Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Chief-Judge Frederik Baadstorp.
Vice-President Filleborn talked about judging and the judging criterias. He will be given judging seminars this year for most of the Nordic countries.
Unfortunately President Santonja and Vice-President Filleborn have to leave in the middle of NBFF Meeting to catch their flights, but the meeting has been very enjoyable and efficient.

NBFF decided some changes in Nordic Championships. The Championships will be held always in the second or third weekend of October and there will be only open category classes, not juniors and masters. NBFF decided that there are no limitation in the amount of competitors and by that the NBFF tires to grow up the Championships much bigger than it is today.
The nest Nordic Championships will be held in Tallin, Estonia on October 19th, 2013. The competition will be drug-tested by the Estonian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
NBFF decided that the Nordic Championships will invite IFBB Head Judge Pawel Filleborn as a head judge so he can make sure that the judges knows their duties and the competition will be run smoothly.
