PRO DIVISION INC ANNOUNCES NEW JUDGING CRITERIA FOR 2006 SCHEDULE

Pro Division Inc has announced today the judging criteria for their 2006 competition/event schedule which commences in September.

Wayne S. DeMilia, CEO of Pro Division Inc states, “The main points in the judging procedure are the easily defined rounds and the rewarding of the athletes for aesthetics, symmetry, and entertainment value as well as muscle size and definition.“

Executive Judging Director John Calascione, who will serve as Chief Judge at all events, has formulated the groundwork to underwrite fair judging on all levels.

“The judges will be constantly rotated, not only to prevent the same judges from judging the same event every year, but also to insure that every panel will be different. Judges will be assessed every six months and judges who cannot meet the standards that are required will first be asked to attend additional judging clinics. If the judge is still not up to standard, he/she will not be i ncluded on future panels,” said Calascione at a recent Pro Division Inc. summit.

Both DeMilia and Calascione guarantee that any improprieties, connections, associations or collusion between judges and/or judges and competitors can result in the judge not only being removed from a panel but also removed from consideration from all future judging panels.

Any questions, comments or interest in the judging procedures and ru les for Pro Division Inc should direct them via email to prodivisioninc@yahoo.com.

Pro Division Inc judging rules for 2006 are as follows:

    JUDGING RULES

All competitions in Pro Division, Inc will be judged using the placement system. When there are more than 20 athletes in a competition, judges will judge from 1 to 15 with all other athletes receiving a 16. When there are 20 or less competitors in a competition, the judges will place them from 1 to 20 in each appropriate round.

Each competition will have a minimum of seven judges and an alternate judge. The alternate score will only be used is one of the seven voting judges is unable to continue in the competition.

In major competitions there will be eleven judges and an alternate judge. In major competitions, computer scoring will be used with the alternate score being determined at random by the computer in each round.

Judges will have the opportunity to call their individual comparisons in rounds one and two.

Judges will be instructed to mark down any athlete with gynecomastia. Any type of artificial muscle augmentation, either by implants or any other type of foreign substance to enhance the muscle size or shape will also be cause for the judges to lower the athlete’s placing.

The contest will be judged based on five rounds, with each round being an equal 20% of the score. The athlete with the lowest score after five rounds is the winner.

    SCORE #1–ROUND 1—Symmetry & Aesthetics—20%

WHAT THE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR:

The judges are looking for overall symmetry, aesthetics, balance and proportion. There should be a “V” taper from the shoulders to the waist. The stomach region should be muscular yet small and tight from all angles. From the front, the thighs should have an outer sweep and the calves should show an inner muscle belly. There skin should show an overall tightness from all angles.

Muscularity and size should be taken into account in this round, but the overall aesthetic look of the body should take precedence.

    PROCEDURE:

In this round the athlete is viewed and compared from four sides, (quarter poses front, right side, back, left side), in the semi relaxed position. In all four positions knees are to be locked, feet are to be no more than 2 inches apart, and there is to be no twisting of the upper torso.

The athletes will come out in groups of no more than ten at a time to do the quarter poses as a group, and then compared 2 or 3 at a time . When all the judges are satisfied, athletes are placed, score sheets marked and given to the head judge.

SCORE #2–ROUND 2—Muscularity in the Seven Compulsory Poses—20%

WHAT ARE THE J UDGES LOOKING FOR:

The judges are looking for size, muscularity, definition and separation based just upon the seven compulsory poses.

    PROCEDURE:

The athletes will be judged in the seven compulsory poses:

    A. Front Double Biceps

    B. Front Lat Spread

    C. Side Chest

    D. Rear Double Bicep

    E. Rear Lat Spread

    F. Front Abdominal & Thighs

    G. Front Most Muscular Crab

The athletes will come out and do the seven compulsory poses individually (when there are more than 20 athletes in a competition, the athletes will be brought out 2 at a time), then be brought out and compared in groups of 2, 3 or 4.

    SCORE #3–ROUND 3A–FREE POSING—20%

WHAT THE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR

The judges are judging the overall physique on all points (aesthetics, muscularity, size, balance, proportion, and symmetry) but only what the athlete shows them. If an athlete hides his weak points, it is to his advantage and the judge will base the score on what is presented. This score is based solely on the body, not presentation.

    PROCEDURE

Each athlete presents his body as he wants it to be seen, choreographed to music for approximately three minutes. . If he has weak points on his physique or weak poses, he is not required to do them He is to present his body to his best advantage to the judges.

    SCORE #4–ROUND 3B—ENTERTAINMENT QUALITY—20%

WHAT THE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR:

The judges will be giving a second score solely on the entertainment value of the posing routine. Props and special effects can be used, but the athlete must remember that if the body is covered too much or for too long, or if the effects prevent the adequate presentation of the body in the judge’s mind, it could effect the scor e in round 3A.

    SCORE #5—ROUND 4—FINAL POSEDOWN—20%

WHAT THE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR:

This is the judge’s final chance to assess the athlete’s physique. The judges are first looking at the physique as a whole, then breaking it down to symmetry, aesthetics, muscularity, size, balance and proportion.

    PROCEDURE

The top six will come out as a group in numerical order. The judges can ask the head judge for repositioning of the athletes if necessary to aid in the judging. Athletes will first do quarter turns as a group, then the seven compulsory poses as a group. The head judge will then order the athletes to “posedown” and the athletes will break into free posing of the ir choice to out do the other athletes on stage.

PRO DIVISION INC ANNOUNCES MEDICAL BENEFITS FOR MEMBERS

Pro Division Inc announced today an agreement with McLean Hospital, part of Harvard Medical School, to provide medical benefits for Pro Division Inc members.

McLean Hospital will conduct complete comprehensive yearly physicals for all Pro Division Inc. athletes. This is an unprecedented step in the healthcare of professional bodybuilding athletes.

Wayne S. DeMilia, CEO of Pro Division Inc states, “The main part of any show or competition is the athletes. Without them, there is no event. We must concern ourselves with the health of the athletes to not only insure the longevity of the athlete, but also of the sport.

What precipitated this action by Pro Division Inc is the number of untimely deaths and severe medical problems that has beset the sport the past 24 months.

DeMilia goes on to say, “Three top male athletes have needed kidney transplants over a two year time span. Something has to be done. Heart attacks and bypass surgery become all too common. Athletes under the age of 40 are suffe ring strokes. Something has to be done and we will be doing it.”

“We are taking a bold step in order to detect problems early, with the desired result being to save lives. We all know that early detection with any medical problem gives the best possible chance to defeat the problem. We are looking to give our athletes that fighting chance.”

“We also know that this is a benefit for all athletes, whether they live in t he U.S. or not. We want to do something in the medical area for all athletes that participate in our shows.”

Any questions or comments should be directed to Pro Division Inc via email at prodivisioninc@yahoo.com.

PRO DIVISION INC ANNOUNCES THE RETURN OF NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

Pro Division Inc is proud to announce the initial event on their schedule with the return of NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS, September 15th and 16th at the Town Hall Theater in New York City.

NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS is the second longest running professional event in Bodybuilding history with the show this fall being 27th edition of the event.

The event will take place over two days with the Friday night affair being an Amateur Pro Qualifier in which the top two finishers in each of the five weight divisions will earn “pro status” in Pro Division Inc and be eligible to compete as a professional in Night of Champions the next day. Saturday will feature the NOC judging at 2:00PM and the NOC finals at 8:00PM.

Wayne S. DeMilia, CEO of Pro Division Inc states, “We are pleased and privileged to have Night of Champions be the opening of this new beginning, but we will also keep parts of the past to have this event remain as a compass for the navigation of the sport. I am elated that Charles Blake, the greatest stage innovator and designer in Bodybuilding history, will be at my side to elevate the level of NOC to heights never before achieved. Charles will not only outdo anything ever seen at a Bodybuilding event, he will also bring in his staff of lighting, staging and audio aficionados to give the fans an evening of entertainment and amazement that will be hard pressed to match.

DeMilia goes on, “We are also happy to bring the event back to the Town Hall Theater, the location of the first NOC in 1978. Town Hall is a beautiful intimate theater, with state of the art lighting and sound. With no orchestra pit, the site lines are perfect and the fans will feel that they are right on top of the stage. In fact, from the front row of t he loge boxes in the balcony to the front of the stage is only 29 feet. This will give the fans the opportunity to see details in the physique that, in the past, was only available to the judges.”

In closing, DeMilia announces, “This is only our first event of 2006. Our next press release will announce other events on the PDI fall contest schedule. We are on track to have a minimum of 6 shows this fall, 12 to 15 shows in 2007, and 25 pro events encompassing all major continents by the 2010 season.”

PDI ANNOUNCES THE SIGNING OF LEE PRIEST TO COMPETE IN NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

Pro Division Inc is proud to announce that Lee Priest has signed a contract to compete in NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS XXVII, Saturday, September 16th, at the Town Hall Theater in New York City.

Lee Priest is one of the most popular Bodybuilders in the world today, if not the most popular. His amazing physique, his drag racing hobby and his hospitality towards fans make him one of the top personalities in the sport. He is also a man who many people believe is the greatest short man in the history of the sport.

Lee has been a pro for 12 years and has won the 2002 San Francisco Pro Invitational, the 2005 Australian Pro Invitational, and the 2006 Ironman Pro Classic. He has been a top ten finisher in the Olympia and a top six finisher in the Arnold Classic numerous times.

Lee also has a second career with drag racing where he recently took the checkered flag for his initial first place victory. PDI will market Lee as a two sport competitor and champion in order to garner maximum exposure for both Lee and the Night of Champions event.

Night of Champions will be the first pro event on the PDI fall schedule. Lee’s decision to compete in NOC was enhanced by the reputation of the event, the location (Town Hall, New York City the site of the first NOC in 1978) and of course, the Bodybuilding fans of New York who Lee feels are the best in the world.

Lee states, “It is a great opportunity for me to compete in Night of Champions in New York City. The fans, the theater, the staging and the promotion make it the most distinctive event in Bodybuilding. Also, I am very enthused about competing under the new rules that govern such events that PDI has implemented. I take pleasure in the fact that aesthetics will be emphasized and that the entertainment element will be judged and rewarded. I feel that this is a step in the right direction to make our sport more exciting and exhilarating for the fans.”

Pro Division CEO Wayne S. DeMilia states, “We are thrilled to sign Lee Priest as the first PDI athlete and to have him contracted to compete in the first PDI event, Night of Champions XXVII. Lee has always been a fan favorite in New York and this year will be no different.”

DeMilia goes on to say, “This is only the first of many Bodybuilding stars from different organizations encompassing the world who will join PDI and make PDI events exciting, entertaining and unpredictable.”

PDI ANNOUNCES THE SIGNING OF VINCE TAYLOR TO COMPETE IN NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

Pro Division Inc is proud to announce that Vince Taylor has signed a contract to compete in NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS XXVII, Saturday, September 16th, at the Town Hall Theater in New York City. Because of prior obligations to the IFBB, Vince has guaranteed his joining PDI effective June 18, 2006.

Vince Taylor has had a career that is beyond words and exceeds anything imaginable. His first amateur victory was in 1983 when he won the Mr. Berlin event in Germany. In 1987 he won the AAU medium height class at the Mr. America and followed that in 1988 by winning the overall NPC Nationals. His Nationals victory gained him pro status in the IFBB.

His first IFBB pro contest resulted in a victory as Vince won the 1989 Night of Champions XI. Since his first victory in New York in 1989, he has followed that up with twenty one more victories that include the Grand Prix of Switzerland, the Grand Prix of Spain, the Grand Prix of Italy, the Grand Prix of Finland, the Grand Prix of Denmark, the Grand Prix of England, the Grand Prix of France, the Grand Prix of Ukraine, the San Jose Pro Invitational, the Niagara Falls Pro Invitational, two time winner of the Pittsburgh Pro Invitational, two time winner of the Ironman Pro Invitational, the Arnold Classic, the Arnold Classic Masters and five time Masters Olympia Champion.

But even with more victories than any other Bodybuilder competing today, Vince is better known for his posing routines. The first time he unveiled his robot routine at the 1991 Olympia he brought the house down and exited the stage to a standing ovation. He expanded on the creativity of the routine in subsequent years and brought posing and presentation to new heights when he incorporated the Macarena into the robot routine by the mid to late 1990’s. His ingenious posing has captivated Bodybuilding audiences worldwide as Vince Taylor has been the most requested athletes in the past 15 years.

“I look at myself as more of a performer and entertainer than as a Bodybuilder” states Vince. He goes on to say “PDI is offering to me exactly what and how I feel Pro Bodybuilding should be. With no restrictions, I will attempt to do something at NOC this September that only Vince Taylor could bring to the entertainment stage. I will raise the bar so high in presentation; it will not be equaled for years. NOC is where I made my pro debut, NOC is where I won my first pro show, and NOC in 2006 is where I will revolutionize posing…….again!”

Pro Division CEO Wayne S. DeMilia states, “We are ecstatic and elated to sign Vince Taylor as a PDI athlete and to have him contracted to compete in the first PDI event, Night of Champions XXVII. Anyone who is lucky enough to have tickets for the evening finals will remember Vince’s performance for years to come. I am sure that Vince will have the New York crowd in the palm of his hand by the end of the night.”

This will be Stephen’s first time competing in the United States. He has won just about every major title in the amateur ranks and in his pro debut he is looking to do some real damage at NOC and in the professional ranks of PDI.

Stephen, who is from Scotland, has won the Mr. Scotland title four times. PDI ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL CHANGES TO THE JUDGING PROCEDURE AT NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

Pro Division Inc has announced a major change to the third round judging procedure that will commence at the NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS XXVII, Saturday, September 16th, at the Town Hall Theater in New York City.

After the first two rounds in the afternoon, the athletes will pose in the evening in the inverse order of their placing after those two rounds. In effect, the athlete in 20th place will pose first, 19th place pose second, 18th place pose third, with the leader after the first two rounds posing last in the evening. The audience will be given the placing of the athletes as they enter the evening event.

“This is another major step to add excitement and anticipation to the audience for the evening presentation. When you compare this change to other sports, it is a very sensible move” states PDI Executive Judging Director John Calascione.

Pro Division CEO Wayne S. DeMilia adds “in no other sport is the best seen first. In Boxing, Pro Wrestling, Golf and Tennis the best are always last. We are just following what is logical and successful. This change will also heighten the expectation of the third round posing for the audience and isn’t that what the third round is for. The audience must be entertained for the entire evening event and this is just another change that will help insure that high level of entertainment. When you add this change to the previous adjustments to round three with two scores given in the round (one score for the physique presented and a second score for the entertainment value of the routine) we are progressing towards our target of Bodybuilding Entertainment at a level never before witnessed or achieved.”

PDI also announced a change in the scheduling of two of the Amateur Pro Qualifiers. The Western USA PDI Qualifier will now take place in the spring of 2007 the night before the PDI Los Angeles Pro event. The Southern USA PDI Qualifier will take place later in the fall of 2006 as part of a major MMA fight and expo.

These changes will result in stronger events for PDI and also allow Night of Champions in New York to be the inaugural Pro Division event. Anyone wishing to compete at the PDI Pro Qualifier in New York should contact the PDI office at 845-638-9290 or at prodivisioninc@yahoo.com .

Sami, who resides in Bahrain, has won the Mr. Bahrain title nine times. He has also won the Mr. U.A.E. in 1996, two-time Mr. Kuwait in 1997 and 1998, Mr. Asia in 1998, Mr. Qatar in 2002, Mr. Arab Gulf in 2002 and Mr. Pro World in 2005. PDI IN ESPN THE MAGAZINE

Pro Division Inc is proud to announce that PDI has an article in the August 14th issue of ESPN The Magazine. This is a very significant step forward for PDI since the inaugural PDI event, Night of Champions, is not until September 16th, at the Town Hall Theater in New York City.

“PDI is very ecstatic about having an article in one of the largest sports magazines in the United States. With a circulation in the millions, ESPN The Magazine has given Bodybuilding and PDI exposure that is limited to only the major sports in America. This is just the first step in bringing Bodybuilding to levels that were never remotely attained in the past. We at PDI have established our goals, set our plans and we are progressing forward at an accelerated pace. Our velocity will remain under control to insure success at every level” states

    PDI’s CEO Wayne S. DeMilia.
