    WOMEN’S PHYSIQUE AND MEN’S ATHLETIC PHYSIQUE

    Women’s Physique and Men’s Athletic Physique will be present in the Arnold Classic Europe in Madrid.

    IFBB will conduct two tests in official events on Women’s Physique and Men’s Athletic Physique as upcoming modalities.

    Athlete’s that wish to compete in this event have to make their inscription through their National Federation as in all IFBB events.

    2012 KOREAN NATIONALS

    Korean bodybuilders had their National Championships on June 14th, 2012, in Busan Metropolitan City – the second largest city in South Korea, after Seoul. Hosted by the Busan City Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation under the leadership of Mr. Choi Sam-Seob, attracted over 180 male and female competitors, spread between juniors, seniors and maters categories. The Championships were officially opened by the Korean Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation President Kim Nam-Hak, who is also the IFBB Patron, and IFBB Judges Committee Chairman Pawel Filleborn, who represented IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja. The overall winners were: Kim Jong-Wong (men’s bodybuilding) and Park Bork-Im (women’s bodybuilding).

    IFBB Judges Seminar was held in conjunction with these Championships, with over 50 Korean judges participated in. The next seminar, intended for judges from Asian countries, will be held in Seoul on September 12-14, 2012. South Korea is among five strongest IFBB national federations and won many continental and world championships medals. Few weeks ago was the second best team, after Iran, at the 2012 Asian Championships in Uzbekistan. Their top bodybuilders are preparing their bodies to the upcoming 2012 World Men’s Championships in Ecuador later this year.

    PROF. RUDY PANATTA, A GREAT CAPTAIN OF THE FITNESS INDUSTRY, RECEIVED THE IFBB GOLD MEDAL

    Prof. Rudy Panatta, CEO and owner of Panatta Sport, welcomed President Santonja in his headquarters in Apiro, Italy.

    Being a great enthusiast for sports and a successful business man, Prof. Rudy Panatta leads an impressive operational company with a factory of over 25,000 square meters that produces some of the most sophisticated and well-constructed equipments in the fitness industry, being behind this industrial production a touch of his true passion and life dedication for Bodybuilding as a sport and real lifestyle.

    Among the many inspirational moments of the visit was the opportunity to visit the excellent collection of Bodybuilding magazines that includes editions even from 1902. The two day visit was full of activities and projects, among them sharing a great workout!

    IFBB PRESIDENT DR. RAFAEL SANTONJA VISITED PRAGUE

    Last weekend, IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja visited the Czech Republic where he held meetings in Prague with Robert Speychal, Eva Sukupová and the staff of EVL, organizers of the upcoming Prague Program Prix and Miss Olympia Amateur Bikini, an ambitious and well planned event that will bring back pro and amateur activities in the Czech Republic, traditionally a country with long successful records worldwide in the history of our sport.

    President Santonja met as well Martin Jevas, a young dynamic leader and new President of the Czech Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, following up different activities and projects for our sport in the country.

    He also met Ludovit Major, Chief Editor of Muscle & Fitness for Czech Republic and Slovakia and one of the most experienced international bodybuilding journalists and personal friend of Rafael Santonja for over 25 years. Ludovit is cooperating with the Czech Republic and the IFBB with his expertise in the different fields of sport and lifestyle. The program included as well time to visit historical places like the crypt of Methodio and Cyrillo, the aviation museum and the museum of military history, accompanied by Ltd Coronel Robert Speychal, a great specialist in history. Anecdotally the visit also gave enough time for Rafael Santonja to fly an original plane from 1918 from WWI over the Prague skies.

    BUDAPEST, HUNGARY, WILL HOST THE IFBB WORLD JUNIOR AND MASTER’S CHAMPIONSHIP, FROM 14 TO 17 OF DECEMBER, 2012

    Budapest, Hungary, will take the torch in 2012 from Santa Susanna after the great Success of the World Junior and Master’s 2011.

    The Hungarian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, under the leadership Istvan Huber, is working on the final design of the program, in coordination with the IFBB.

    The World Junior and Master’s Championship is one of the fastest growing events in the IFBB official calendar, being in 2011 the world title event attended by the largest number of competitors.

    Budapest is a very historical city that will offer athletes, officials and supporters the opportunity to enjoy a very interesting trip together with a high performance event.

    DR. ENG. ADEL FAHIM EL SAYED REELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE EGYPTIAN BODYBUILDING FEDERATION

    Cairo, 19 July 2012

    Dr. Eng. Adel Fahim El Sayed, Executive Assistant of IFBB President and Vice President for Africa, was reelected yesterday in Cairo President of the Egyptian Bodybuilding Federation.

    Under the leadership of Dr. Adel Fahim, Egyptian bodybuilding has reached the highest level of success, being the national team that holds the highest number of gold medals at World Men’s Championships in the last 10 years, taking first place in the male bodybuilding world ranking.

    Dr. Adel Fahim was as well elected President of the Arab bodybuilding federation in Dubai in 2009.

    IFBB is proud of this outstanding official for his achievements and dedication to our sport and conveys its congratulations to Dr. Adel, his Executive Board and all the members in the Egyptian Bodybuilding Federation.

    IFBB IN RIO DE JANEIRO

    With occassion of the Expo Rio Show and in preparation for the Arnold Classic Brasil, that in cooperation with Ana Paual Freija and Luis Felipe Bonilha, organizers of the event, will take place from 25-27 April 2013, President Santonja visited Rio accompanied by Bob Lorimer.

    Maruicio de Arruda and the President of the Rio Federation Gustavo Costa, provided the usual excellent support to all the activities.
