Member-212 prejudging is done! As expected, Kevin English, Jose Raymond and making his pro debut, Sami Al Haddad are in TOP 3. Honestly, I would have nothing against if Sami took this one!

MemberJuding of women’s physique division confuces again. At past shows they awarded tiny and soft look, now looks like they require much more muscles actually. Nothing against it though, Juliana Malacarne who seem to battle in top, looks brilliant!

New York Pro Pre-Judging Report
Tribeca Performing Arts Center, New York: May 19, 2012
By Peter McGough and Ron Harris
Mens Open
The 11-man line-up for this event shaped up as the most intriguing in years, with a fresh new mood permeating the event. This by virtue of five rookies (Allan, De La Rosa, Kuclo, Morel and Touri) making their pro debuts, augmented by Johnnie Jackson being the only one in the field who competed as a pro before 2010 (the Texan’s first pro foray being 2002).
Pre contest speculation zeroed in on a seeming clash for top honors between Kuclo and McMillan. In truth the suspense barely lasted through the first call out, as the later bested the former with greater all round development and detail. Indeed judging by the call outs it seems Kuclo may currently be in fourth, with De La Rosa and Jackson ahead of him. Jackson seemed to have De La Rosa beat on upper body development, while De La Rosa took lower body honors. But it seemed Johnnie’s superior hardness earned his second spot: Verified by the last call out being him and McMillan in which again big Cedric looked untouchable.
Still with 50% of the points to be determined this evening, the placing from two through four are still, like a Hail Mary, throw up for grabs. Although it would seem that someone would have to pray their way through a few rosary beads to rip the 2012 New York Pro title from McMillan’s grasp. Stay tuned to musculardevelopment.com throughout this evening as we bring you play-play of the evening action, a finals wrap up report, and video interviews with the champs and those who chased them.
Ron Harris:
I also saw Cedric clearly winning this show, but I am not so sure Johnnie should be such a solid second. His condition was very good, but Kuclo, Jonathan, and Juan were all harder. As far as how those three should place, it’s tough to say. None of them have complete physiques that lack for nothing. Kuclo still needs more back thickness, Jon needs to beef up his chest, and Juan really just needs to fill out a bit more overall. I do have to hand it to Cedric and his prep coach Chris Aceto on a job well done. There is no question that he has this show wrapped up.

Men’s 212 Class:
In the countdown to this class the main talking point was whether a fast improving Jose Raymond could muscle his way past reigning Olympia 202 champ Kevin English, who wasn’t exactly dominant in defending his title last September. The sub plot was would the extra 10 pounds that this division allows help English, who in past years has gone from an offseason 260 pounds to 202 on contest day.
Trouble is nobody told Bahrain’s Sami Alhaddad about the storyline and to these peepers the pro debutant came out on to at the 212 pre-judging. This due to his superior shape, proportionate development and conditioning. Neither English or Raymond were at their hardest and both have structural flaws when compared to Sami. If the rookie wins it will be a major upset in this always exciting division. Unless he gets mugged on the way to the theater tonight Alhadadd should take away the first place check. But what do I now, I was the one who said Velcro would never catch? Check into musculardevelopment.com for as it happens action.
Ron Harris:
I must confess that I drastically underestimated Sami. This man has one of the most complete, shapely physiques I have seen in a long time, and he showed ,up hard as nails. Jose also brought grainy condition and truckloads of thick, freaky mass, and Kevin English is still a freak. Sami is a bit taller than both of them. Normally that would mean he looks lanky in comparison – but he really doesn’t. I would hate to be a judge here today. Arguments could be made for any of the three to win. Me personally, I see it as a case of apples and oranges between Sami and Jose, though Kevin is also in contention as a three-time champion who did show up in pretty good shape – not spectacular, but pretty good nonetheless.
