MemberAs totally 3 pro shows were held during this weekend, many new names were added to the list of O qualified athletes.
At Nordic Pro held in Finland Roelly Winklaar (men’s open) and Gal Ferreira Yates (figure) earned their Olympia tickets. Eduardo Correa took an impressive win at Valenti Gold Cup and goes to the 212 showdown as well. As the winner of figure show Erin Stern had already qualified, noone took straight qualification spot here. In TOC pro figure rookie pro Francine Sablan took top honors and secured her way to the Olympia stage.
During this year only the winners from the open shows (not AC, Olympia) earned straight qualification to the Olympia. But, this year was the qualification point system launced – TOP 5 based on the points earned during the year would also qualifiy to the Olympia. Now as the last Olympia qualifiers are behind (well St Louis pro bikini left), one can also see who earned O ticket via this new system.

MemberThree time -212 Champ Kevin English will not defend his title..
Kevin English, 3x Olympia 202 Showdown Champion, has formally announced that he will not be competing in the 2012 Olympia 212 Showdown. Citing an injury that has plagued him for years and recently gotten worse, English stated:
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I will not be competing in the 2012 Olympia 212 Showdown.
I’ve always had problems with my knees due to years of wrestling. I have no cartilage, just bone on bone. When I was dieting for the New York Pro, my body was often dehydrated and depleted which lessened the cushioning between my joints.
During a leg workout a few weeks after the show, I felt a really sharp pain when squatting. I immediately put the weight down. My training partner and physical therapist, Dr. Michael Camp, was there to provide immediate assistance.
I trained lighter over the next few weeks and the pain was bearable, but still there. The injury eventually progressed into a partial patella tendon tear, so we began the rehab process without giving up on the Olympia.
This weekend, Dr. Camp and I decided that training for the Olympia Showdown was counterproductive to the healing process. I would not be able to do both effectively; therefore, I am talking time off to heal, with the support of my therapist, MetRx, MD, and nutritionist Fakhri Mubarak.
I would like to thank everyone the continued support. I AM NOT RETIRED. We are already looking at shows for 2013. I will still be at the 2012 Olympia, working the Met-Rx booth and excited to see the show and the greatest fans in the world.
English won the Olympia 202 Showdown title the last three years and was among the favorites going in to this year’s competition. The door is now open to crown a new champion…

IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden’s competed four times so far this year placing 4th at the Fex Pro and then dropping down to 8th at the 2012 Arnold Classic. Determind to make a name for himself this year, Rhoden and team went back to the drawing board and came back with back to back wins at both PBW Championships in Tampa and the Europa Super Show in Dallas. Qualified for the 2012 Olympia, the pressure is on to match or exceed his look in the past two wins.
In this short but intense preview video, Rhoden implies he is not only going to the Olympia, but he is gunning after a top placement

“I will be stepping on stage 21 days from now …” confidently declares Mr Olympia Phil Heath as he’s eating his chicken and brown rice. It’s surreal to Phil thinking that it’s been a full year since being crowned Mr Olympia. That’s what has kept him motivated all year in preparation for the 2012 Mr Olympia.Phil talks about his current meal, past meals and his overall food plan with Guru Hany Rambod. Don’t tell Hany, but Phil snuck in a chicken meal, instead of a fish meal, before heading to Armbrust Pro Gym for a workout.http://www.flexonlin…lympia-part-1-4
