MemberInfo kohaselt tuleb Veneamaalt ja Ukrainast kokku kumbagist vaid ca 20 – 22 võistlejat. Dopingukontrolli kartuses jäävad eemale suur osa klassikuid….see peaks meie meeste võimalusi oluliselt parandama. Samas kulturismis on mul sealt vastas kaks kõva vana Vasja Remezov ja Vladislav Mazara (mõlemad korduvalt MM finaalis olnud mehed).

THIS WEEK WILL BE VERY SPECIAL !!!
by Andrew Michalak This week will be very special for the EBFF and IFBB, as the 2015 European Championships will start in Santa Susanna, Spain, on Wednesday. The whole Wednesday is devoted for weigh-in, measurements and registration and it will not be an easy day as over 1000 athletes and over 400 delegates and supports declared to participate in the Championships. This is an evidence of the unbelievable expansion of the IFBB physique sports and rising popularity of the biggest competitions. We can see that not only more and more people workout in gyms and fitness centers but more and more people among them want to compete and show the results of their training to the public. IFBB, from its foundation in 1946, has been working to achieve this goal, what was a dream of its founder and first President Ben Weider. But just under the leadership of his successor, Dr. Rafael Santonja, this amazing phenomenon took place. It is the result of many factors and social processes: open strategy of President Santonja and IFBB, which follows the current trends in the societies, introducing new, cool sport divisions like women’s bikini fitness and men’s physique; persistent, every day work of National Federations all over the world, organizing and promoting more and more events; sport and mainstream media activity, which promote our sports, showing people working out and their shapely physiques. Nowadays, in more and more movies, TV channels or even general advertisements we can see a gym, people working out or presenting their strength and their bodies. Weight training is no more something “to be ashamed of”. People train and proudly tell about this in their offices, schools and companionships. So, we will have the biggest ever European Championships during the upcoming weekend and it will be a challenge to put everything in this four-day frame. The biggest national teams include well over 50 athletes. Most of them are new, rising stars, what is a new trend, showing a much bigger rotation of participating competitors. Previously, the same experienced, well-known champions used to come to the continental championships year by year. Nowadays, continental champions usually go to the next-year world championships or turn pro, leaving place for new stars. However, even a couple of the world champions will take part in the upcoming European Championships Fitness: Very attractive battle seems to be run in women’s fitness short class. Russia will be represented by former world champion Olga Volokh and last year’s European champion Anna Dudushkina (Mekhnina). Then, the last year’s World Championships runner-up Kristina Koroljak (Estonia). The challengers will come from Hungary: Kata Palásthy and Gyöngyi Kis, Romania: Laura Cupsa, Poland: Anna Guzik, Italy: Denisa Sarmirova, Spain: Barbara Sales Cadena and other countries. In the tall class: former European champion Tatiana Dvortsova (2010) and last year’s finalist Endla Vaher (Estonia). In men’s fitness a fantastic battle is guaranteed: last year’s world champion: Fedir Khashalov (Ukraine) against former world champion Oleg Anissimov (Estonia). Men’s bodybuilding: Very interesting group of champions in the 70 kg category: six-time world champion Igor Kocis and former European champion Miroslav Skadra (both of Slovakia) plus last year’s champion Roman Iushchenko (Ukraine) and former bronze medal winner Sergei Povrezniuk (Russia). No less interesting category will be the 85 kg class, with former European champion Josep Merino (Spain), last year’s runner-up Mariusz Balazinski, bronze medal winner Krzysztof Skryplonek (both of Poland), 4th place winner Andres Corrales (Spain), 5th place winner Daniele Furiosi (Italy) and the latest Mozolani Classic winner Jozef Nagy (Slovakia). In the 90 kgcategory: last year’s runner-up Ott Kiivikas (Estonia), last year’s World Championships finalist Vladyslav Mazhara and… 2004 World Championships finalist Vasyl Remizov (both of Ukraine). In the 95 kg category former runner-up and World Championships finalist Roman Dudushkin (Russia) will meet last year’s finalist Wojciech Pieczaba (Poland). In the 100 kg category: 2013 runner-up Alexey Tronov (Russia) and 2010 bronze medal winner Tomasz Bobrowski (Poland). Bikini-fitness: It looks that the short class up to 160 cm will be the toughest one, with the World Championships bronze medal winner and Arnold Europe runner-up Maria Del PilarAranguren (Spain) plus the next two top Spanish international stars: Inmaculada Gual and Zayra Fernandez, 2014 Arnold USA 3rd place winner Virag Kiss (Hungary), Arnold Europe finalist Yulia Khotkina (Russia), World Championships finalist Svitlana Sydorenko (Ukraine), World Junior Championships bronze medasl winner Paula Mocior (Poland). In 163 cm class Stanislava Pritrska (Slovakia) will come to regain the last year’s title. Will be challenged by the Arnold Europe Runner-up and World Championships finalist Rodika Bodrug (Sweden) and Amateur Olympia Europe runner-up Stephanie Davis (Austria). In 166 cm class Arnold Europe winenr Frida Sjöström (Sweden)will be the main pretebder to the title. In 169 cm class we can see many top girls: World Championships finalist Reet Reimets (Estonia) plus 2015 Arnold USA finalists: Diana Salamon (Hungary) and Olivia Cambalova (Slovakia). In 172 cm class the World Championships silver and bronze medal winners: Kristina Nuut (Estonia) and Brigitta Békefi (Hungary) plus European Championships finalist Malgorzata Maczynska (Poland). In the over 172 cm class the World Championships runner-up Olivia Pohankova (Slovakia) will be challenged by the World Ladies Cup winner Kseniia Sheveleva (Russia). Bodyfitness: In 158 cm class: the World Championships finalist Roberta Visintainer and the European Championships finalist Silvia Cecchinato (both of Italy) will meet the European Championships bronze medal winner Evalinda Aarvaag (Sweden), and finalist Sylwia Taczala (Poland) and Arnold Classic Europe runner-up Bienvenida Bevia (Spain). The tallest class over 168 cm seems to be dominated by Nordic stars: the current world champion Maria Hasselmark (Sweden) will be challenged by her two team-mates: World Championships finalist Therese Svedbom and European Championships finalist Marina Chamoun, also by Arnold Europe top three Ellen Berg (Norway) and 2015 Arnold USA runner-up Anna Kalugina (Russia), More information and conmolete Start List will be provided Wednesday night, after the weigh-in.
