    Pro circus continued as well with 2 contests during the weekend…

    .. IFBB Optimum Classic Pro had included only women’s physique in the show schedule. Here a lil recap and the results;

    Karina Nascimento’s name is already in history books as the first-ever winner of an IFBB Pro League Women’s Physique contest. After her win at the Optimum Classic in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday, Nascimento is now assured of being part of another first: the inaugural Women’s Physique Showdown on Olympia Weekend.

    With the win, Nascimento – who became the first Women’s Physique champ by winning the Desert Muscle Classic 15 months ago – joins Patricia Mello as the only Women’s Physique competitors with three professional victories.

    TOP 5 results

    1. Karina Nascimento

    2. Tycie Coppett

    2013 Powerhouse classic offered some more action on the pro stage as besides pro figure girls also men’s physique pro athletes and bikini pros competed there yday. Here a lil recap by NPCnewsonline and the TOP results;

    Gennifer Strobo won for the second time in as many weeks while Anton Antipov and Ashley Kaltwasser each notched the first wins of their respective careers at the 2013 IFBB Powerhouse Classic in Novi, Michigan on Saturday night. Strobo’s win in the Figure division comes one week after her victory at the Pittsburgh Pro and is the fifth of her career. Canada’s Natalie Waples placed second, while Dana Ambrose finished third.

    Kaltwasser finally earned the first win of her career after a couple of close calls over the past three weeks. Kaltwasser, who earned her pro card by winning the Overall at last year’s NPC Team Universe, was coming off runner-up finishes at both the Europa Show of Champions (April 20) and the Pittsburgh Pro (last weekend). The win automatically qualifies Kaltwasser for her first Bikini Olympia. Stacey Alexander (2nd) and Courtney King (3rd) rounded out the top three.

    In Men’s Physique, Anton Antipov won for the first time in four professional contests. Antipov, who won the Overall at the 2012 IFBB North Americans, had placed 6th (Pittsburgh Pro), 4th (Europa Show of Champions) and 6th (Houston Pro) in three previous IFBB Pro contests. Michael Anderson and Tyler Anderson placed second and third, respectively.

    Arnold Classic 2014 adds men’s -212 bodybuilding, drops women’s bodybuilding which was part of the AC for 25 years.

    http://arnoldsportsfestival.com/bulletins/ASF_News/2013-06/ASF29

    The Arnold Sports Festival will add the 212-pound professional men’s bodybuilding division to its IFBB Pro League contests in 2014, event promoter Jim Lorimer announced today.
    The men’s bodybuilding lightweight division has become one of the IFBB Pro League’s most popular since being introduced in 2008 as the 202-pound division. The allowed weight was increased to 212 pounds effective November 2011.
    The first-annual Arnold Classic 212 will be held Feb. 28, 2014. Prejudging will be held from noon-2 p.m. at the Arnold Fitness EXPO Stage, with finals sets for 7 p.m. that night at Veterans Memorial.
    The Arnold Classic 212 will replace the Ms. International women’s bodybuilding competition at the Arnold Sports Festival. The Ms. International was part of the Arnold Sports Festival for 25 years, with Iris Kyle winning her record seventh title in 2013.
    “The Arnold Sports Festival was proud to support women’s bodybuilding through the Ms. International for the past quarter century,” Lorimer said. “But in keeping with demands of our fans, the time has come to introduce the Arnold Classic 212 beginning in 2014. We are excited to create a professional competitive platform for some of the IFBB Pro League’s most popular competitors.”
    The 2014 Arnold Sports Festival will again feature five IFBB Pro League events: men’s bodybuilding, 212 men’s bodybuilding, women’s fitness, figure and bikini.

    No summer breaks for the pro athletes, and so did the pro league events continue with 2 smallers shows yday. At Omaha Pro figure..

    Candice Lewis won for the second time at the Omaha Pro Figure Championships on Saturday night in Nebraska, successfully defending the title she won a year ago.

    It was the first win of 2013 for Lewis and her sixth overall since earning her pro card at the 2011 NPC Junior Nationals. She’s come a long way in a year – her win last year was the first of her career, and jump-started a season in which she finished first a record-tying five times. Only two other Figure competitors – Nicole Wilkins and Erin Stern – have won five times in a single season. Lewis had placed fourth (Figure International) and third (Australia Grand Prix) in her two previous contests this year.

    Camala Rodriguez, fresh of her first career win at the California Pro two weeks ago, finished second. Rodriguez made the switch to the Figure division last fall after spending the first three years of her career competing in Fitness.

    Aleisha Hart placed third to help her pick up three points in the Olympia Qualification Series, moving her into a tie with Swann Cardot for third in the standings with nine points. Kim Sheppard (4th) and Allison Frahn (5th) rounded out the top five.

    Narmin Assria won the second contest of her career on Saturday night at the IFBB Southern California Bikini Championships in San Diego, California.

    Assria’s first win came at last year’s Pacific USA Championships. In two previous contests this year, Assria had placed third (St. Louis Pro) and 8th (Muscle Contest Pro).

    Christie Marquez placed second, the highest finish of her three-year pro career. Marquez was coming off of a fourth-place finish at the St. Louis Pro. Jessica Arevalo (3rd), Candice Conroy (4th) and Angela Skeels (5th) rounded out the top five and all picked up points in the Olympia Qualification Series.

    Mozolani Classic – an amateur show held in Slovakia – has became a traditional event for TOP Slovakian and European amateurs during the last years. Year by year it has became bigger and bigger, but next year it will be HUGE. Eastlabs.biz shares that in the spring 2014, on 2nd – 4th May, in addition to the amateur show, there will be a pro event held as well. Apparently the divisions included are men’s BB under 212 class and women’s pro figure. For more information please read http://www.eastlabs.sk/europa/2868/mozolani-pro-classic-2014-prinesie-na-slovensko-profesionalnu-kulturistiku-a-bodyfitness and keep eye on http://www.mozolani.com
