Some local shows were held during the weekend; Muscle Games in Germany and Decembercupen in Sweden.
Results and the photos from the Muscle games can be found HERE. Over all winners were; Stefanie Kiewitt (Bikini), Franziska Cetin (body fitness), Filip Lihl (junior B:cool:, Stefan Hammerschmidt (masters B:cool:, Stefan Kall (CB:cool: and Serkan Cetin (open B:cool:.

Even though the season is about to end, still some good shows left in the contest calender – among them Int Deutsche Meisterschaft held in Bohrum, Germany, yesterday.

One of the biggest events held in Scandinvia – Fitnessfestivalen and Luciapokalen – was held a week ago in Gothenburg, Sweden.

2013 IFBB Olympia Qualification Series Update
January 4th, 2013
2013 is barely a week old, but it’s never too early to start keeping track of the Olympia Qualification Series. Competitors in each of the IFBB Professional League’s eight divisions began accumulating points immediately after the 2012 Olympia.
The top five in each division from last year’s Olympia automatically qualified for the 2013 edition. This year will be the first year for the Men’s and Women’s Physique divisions at the Olympia. The 2013 IFBB Pro League season begins on March 1-2 with the Arnold Sports Festival.

The scandinavian contest calender for the spring season is now complete;
23rd March, Battle of Scandinavia, Sweden
29th – 31st March – Loaded Cup, Denmark
6th April, BMR Open, Sweden
6th – 7th April – Fredrikstad Open, Norway
13th April, Fitness Classic, Finland (apparently open only for national competitors)
14th April, Oslo Grand Prix, Norway
5th May, Sandefjord Open, Norway

Figure athlete Natalie Benson made her way to the figure TOP during 2007-2008, then for some reason left IFBB and switched to another physique federation WBFF, never competed in that federation though. Now Natalie informs she is back, has left WBFF and hopes to come back to IFBB.
Talking about switching….3rd placer at IFBB European Championships 2012, FAST athlete Peter Wilénius has now officially announced his cross over from CBB to BB. One can follow his journey at http://www.fastnews.fi .
According to Ironworld.ru Mr Alex Lesukov has now obtained his IFBB pro card! It is interesting though as just recently Russian federation dismissed his application for the pro card. Anyway, Leskukov now joins the pro league and will apparently be competing at Arnold Classic Europe.
The traditional Fit Expo took place in LA during the weekend. Even if it there still was no pro shows, most of the biggest names of the BB and Fitness scene attended the Expo. According to Ronnie.cz Czech athlete Jan Kubík has turned pro. Kubík has a long career behind him having his highlight at the IFBB Europeans 2005. Since that he has not been impressing that much at the international stages but won the over all title at the Czech nationals 2011 though.

Dianna Dahlgren entered the IFBB pro ranks after a relatively short NPC run. She achieved pro status at the 2009 Team Universe in just her third show. She competed in the Olympia three times and finished as high as third. Dianna has decided to hang up her heels in the bikini division and does so on a high note. The California girl won the 2012 Houston Pro to close out her competition career.
