KONSTANTIN PASKALEV NOMINATED FOR THE “SPORTSMEN OF THE YEAR”

Classic bodybuilding world overall champion Konstantin Paskalev has been nominated for the Bulgarian “Sportsman of the Year”. Bodybuilding has become so popular that enters the area traditionally “reserved” for Olympic sports.

“Paskalev has broken the status quo of Olympic sports in nominations for “Athlete of the Year” in Bulgaria and showed that not only Olympic sports deserve attention and can attract viewers and sports journalists.” – Dr. Svetomir Hubenov, publisher of the Bulgarian edition of the FLEX magazine, told us. “His nomination is a real precedent in the history of this poll, because until now there were no bodybuilding representatives among the best Bulgarian athletes.” – he added.

Paskalev, 30, won four big IFBB international events this year:

– Balkan Championships in Tuzla, Bosnia & Herzegovina

– European Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria

– Arnold Classic Europe (overall winner) in Madrid, Spain

– World Classic Bodybuilding Championship (overall winner) in Tallinn, Estonia and, of course, he also won Bulgarian Nationals.

Absolute physique sports „Grand slam “ – Dr. Hubenov added. A total of 12 athletes were nominated for the prestigious title. They will receive honorary statuettes at a ceremony in Hall 1 of NDK in Sofia on December 19th, 2011.
