    NPCnewsonline.com shares a short review // http://npcnewsonline.com/ifbb-weekend-preview-toronto-pro-super-show-mile-high-championships/63573/

    It’s the first event of the year where all of the IFBB Professional League’s eight divisions will be represented, and the first time Men’s Physique will be hosted north of the border.

    In Men’s Bodybuilding, the contest is shaping up to be a rematch of last year’s event, when veteran Bill Wilmore and rookie Jon Delarosa finished 1-2 on the final score sheets. Wilmore, who won the first contest of his career in Toronto last year, will be making his first appearance of 2013. Delarosa, the 2011 NPC USA Heavyweight winner, heads to Toronto after placing fourth at last weekend’s highly competitive New York Pro.If he can improve on what he brought when placing 10th at the Arnold Classic in March, Fouad Abiad could also be in the top-three mix.

    Jose Raymond will look to make it two in a row this week after his unexpected win in New York a week ago. Raymond winning the contest wasn’t surprising. The fact that he was even on stage was though, as Raymond didn’t announce his participation in the event until the Friday night before the show. Two other top-six finishers from that contest – Mark Dugdale (3rd ) and Al Auguste (6th) – will also compete.

    In Bikini, Ashley Kaltwasser will compete for the sixth time this year and the fifth time in the past six weeks. Kaltwasser has one win and three second-place finishes in her last four outings.

    Ann Titone and Candice John both have IFBB Pro Figure wins on their resumes. The two placed second and third, respectively, at the Pittsburgh Pro earlier this month.

    Only one spot separated Matt Acton (3rd) and Craig Capurso (4th) at last week’s New York Pro Men’s Physique division. Tyler Anderson – who has two top-three finishes already this season (Pro Grand Prix, 2nd; Powerhouse Classic, 3rd) – could also be in the mix.

    Ryall-Graber Vasani won the Arnold Classic Brasil last month, and she’ll look to capture career win No. 2 in Toronto. Nicole Duncan and Fiona Harris both have top-five finishes already this season.

    Toni West, the 2012 NPC Nationals Overall Winner, impressed in her Women’s Physique pro debut a week ago when placing third at the New York Pro.

    Eighteen competitors will take the stage for the second Women’s Bodybuilding event of the year. Second-year pro Anne Frietas, the 2012 Europa Battle of Champions winner, enters as one of the early favorites.

    And the results;

    Men’s Open BB;

    Martinez’s win ended a five-year winless streak dating back to the 2007 Arnold Classic and qualified him for the Olympia in September. He narrowly missed out on that automatic qualification last week – when he returned to competition after an 18-month layoff – when placing second at the New York Pro. The win was the fourth of Martinez’s 12-year pro career. Fouad Abiad rebounded from an disappointing early-season showing at the Arnold Classic – where he placed 10th – by finishing second, while Jonathan Delarosa placed third.

    1. Victor Martinez
    2. Fouad Abiad
    3. Jonathan Delarosa
    4. Frank McGrath
    5. Mohammad Ali Bannout

    331309.jpg331314.jpg

    Men’s under 212;

    Jose Raymond collected his second win in as many weeks in the 212 division. Raymond won at last week’s New York Pro after deciding to enter the contest on the Friday evening before the show. Runner-up Mark Dugdale followed up his solid outing in New York with another top-three finish. In the process, Dugdale picked up four points in the Olympia Qualification Series, moving him into the No. 2 spot in the standings. Raul Carrasco finished third.

    1. Jose Raymond
    2. Mark Dugdale
    3. Raul Carrasco

    332745.jpg332750.jpg

    Women’s Pro figure;

    In Figure, Ann Titone won her first contest of the year and third of her career. Titone, who placed third at the 2011 Toronto Pro, won two contests in 2012. Swann Cardot picked up her second-straight runner-up finish. Cardot finished second at last week’s New York Pro. Canada’s Natalie Waples finished third and has placed in the top three of her last three contests.

    1. Ann Titone
    2. Swann Cardot
    3. Natalie Waples

    333827.jpg333837.jpg

    Women’s BB

    Jennifer Scarpetta, making her IFBB Pro debut, earned the win in Women’s Bodybuilding. Scarpetta hadn’t competed since winning her pro card at the 2010 NPC USA Championships. Annie Frietas placed second while Maria Rita Bello finished third.

    1. Jennifer Scarpetta (her pro debut!)
    2. Anne Luise Freitas
    3. Maria Rita Bello

    *** ВИКТОР МАРТИНЕЗ – ПОБЕДИТЕЛЬ ТОРОНТО ПРО 2013.

    VICTOR%20MARTINEZ.jpg

    “Перевернута” еще одна страничка в истории самого крупного в Канаде профессионального шоу. И что? Бодибилдинг жив? Или… Вспомним журнал “FLEX” за 1997 год и интервью АРНОЛЬДА ШВАРЦЕНЕГГЕРА, наделавшее немало шума в мире бодибилдинга. Помниете? «ARNOLD: Still Flexing And Vexing!», что можно приблизительно перевести как: «Арнольд: по-прежнему динамичный и язвительный», Шварценеггер весьма нелестно отзывается о положении дел в тогдашнем (шестнадцать лет прошло!!!) бодибилдинге: «…. наш спорт находит все меньше и меньше понимания у публики, «качки» превратились в уродливых сектантов, выряженных в карикатурные одежды, среди чемпионов сейчас почти нет личностей, и они производят впечатление клонированных близнецов…». ДА! БОДИБИЛДИНГ ЖИВ! И Виктор Мартинез меньше всего походит на “клонированного”, и, безусловно, ЯВЛЯЕТСЯ ЛИЧНОСТЬЮ.

    Вес Виктора был на целых 15 фунтов легче, чем его средний вес на соревнованиях. Ему все еще только предстоит набрать свою “боевую массу” после длительного отсутствия на ПРО сцене. Он был буквально “смят тягачем” по имени БОЛЬШОЙ РАМИ неделей раньше на NY PRO. И не состоялась в Нью-Йорке ео ожидаемая всеми победа и соответственно квалификация на “OLYMPIA 2013”. Тем не менее, Виктор – настоящий профессионал своего дела…. “Он улыбнулся, засмеялся, все цепи разорвал”… И выиграл “Toronto Pro Supershow”. Специалисты при этом отметили немаловажную деталь, что по своей эстетике Виктор был в Торонто как никогда близок к той форме, которую он показал в 2008 году на ОЛИМПИИ (тогда первым сделали Джея Катлера).

    Väga super esitlus! Silm puhkas. Võin julgelt öelda, et ühelgi klassikalisel kulturistilgi ei ole sellist lavalist liikumist. Meie kulturistid, kellel on lootust suurvõistlustel finaali pääseda, oleks sellistest vabakavadest palju õppida. Loomulikult raputan ka endale selles suhtes tuhka pähe.
